Every company has it's cash cow such as Konami with it's many cash cows, Tokimeki Memorial, Powerful Pro Baseball, Yugio and so on. Capcom have theirs as well i.e. Street Fighter and Square/Enix with Final Fantasy and don't even get me started with Nintendo and Mario. That fat fuck seems to be in almost every official in-house developed Nintendo release. Anyway, Sega's cash cow of the late 90's and early 2000 was Sakura Taisen or Sakura Wars as itfs known in English. Sega had churned out more Sakura Taisen related software than Sonic at that point. This is the first in what seems to be a never ending saga.

You can tell from the beginning that Sega wanted this to be something special. The presentation is very nice with high quality anime intros and cut scenes. The game is a typical text with picture affair along with a few war simulation style battles. The game is mostly voice driven which was quite special back in 1996. Graphically it's as pleasing as you could get for the time. I just wish it was in high resolution instead of the standard resolution but that's why we have the Dreamcast remake.

Below you can see the actual CD case cover scans as well as the Sakura Taisen mouse mat and stickers. There's also a Saturn mouse that came in the box which isn't pictured below.
