The Zero 4 Champ games have been around for quite some time even appearing on the Super Famicom and PC Engine.  This Saturn versions is no different that the rest apart from the back grounds being made of polygons instead of sprites.  Zero 4 Champ brings drag racing in to the more "stylish" realm of racing.  Unlike the American version of the sport which uses those oversized metal blocks on wheels, the Japanese idea of drag racing uses sport saloon cars such as the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution or Toyota Celica.

Visually Zero 4 Champ is a bit of a dud really.  I can't really understand why the makers of this game decided to use sprites for the cars rather than polygon models.  The fun in this game comes from customizing your car to the max so that it will out perform the opposition.  As well as loads of options to choose from for customizing there's also a story mode full of pretty pictures (^v^).

One of my favorite little extras in this game are the mini bonus games.  There are about 5 of these in total which really add to the last ability of the game as a package.  Overall Zero 4 Champ is nice enough if you're after a drag racing type game but if it's a real racing game you want then I'd stay well clear of Zero 4 Champ.
