The first Quovadis was a decent Sci-Fi Battle Simulation game. This second game though is far superior n every way possible. I'd describe this more as a real time action based battle simulation rather than a traditional turn based battle simulation which the first game was. Quovadis 2 is beautifully presented with extremely high quality anime cut scenes that you'd swear were taken out of a movie they're that good. Very impressive for a company such as Glams who weren't raking in the cash like some of the bigger companies at the time that produced pretty poor anime cut scenes for their games. The game even has a fairly good story which starts off with the president or some other big wig barely escaping with his life after an assassination attempt (all shown as an anime cut scene) It's then up to you to jump into your Mech and chase after the target in a real time action simulation type way.

So is Quovadis 2 playable without the knowledge of Japanese? Hmm, probably not unless you're willing to stick with it and learn what the options do. Even if you do that you'll miss out on most of the plot but you'll still be able to guess some of it from the cut scenes. With this being a 2 disc game it's bound to keep you busy for a while at least.
