Data East bring us the first of 3 Magical Drop games for the Saturn.  This original title looks cheap thanks to it's early looking 3D CG characters but still it plays a nice game.  The idea of magical drop is quite similar to Puzzle Bobble.  So similar in fact that I'm surprised that Data East were never sued over it.  To play the game you must collect one of the coloured balls from the mass of balls heading your way.  Then after collecting a ball you must shoot it back up to a matching colour.  Get three of more together and they'll explode.  Quite simple really.  There is a 2 player option as well for head to head battles but that's about it.  Over all a nice enough early action puzzle game.  By the way, for some reason this game has Chain Reaction written on the English side of the spine.  Was this the original English name for it?  The other two games in the series both say Magical Drop just like the Japanese title.
