I've spent over 2 years looking for this game then finally find it for 500 yen. God only knows why it was so hard to find in this part of Japan where I live. Maybe not that many copies were produced or maybe it's because G-Vector is such an oddity that people who own it just won't let it go.

G-Vector is a 3D shooting game much in the same way as Panzer Dragoon but with a space ship instead of a dragon and you're always going forwards.  Actually it's nothing like Panzer Dragoon apart from both games are on rails.. G-Vector is fast and very hard, in fact too hard I think. You only get 2 shields at first, which you'll lose very quickly if you're not careful.

Visually G-Vector is a bit on the crappy side yet still appealing. It's hard to describe really. The levels aren't really that exciting (apart from level 5) and only scroll straight in to the screen but the fact that the entire area is made from polygons sort of makes you go gwowh. Now, even though games such as Sky Target use polygons for the areas they don't use any shading or light sourcing. This is where G-Vector gets it's wow factor from.

I don't think G-Vector will appeal to everyone let alone all shooting fans but for those who like stuff such as Taito's Night Striker, Space Harrier, Panzer Dragoon, Sky Target and so on will find this game quite interesting if not a little frustrating due to the ultra hard level setting. I only managed to get to level 4 after hours of play. I had to resort to using an Action Replay to finish it because it was so hard!
