What a beautiful looking game this is. Sold polygon cities with no popup and pretty clean textures make Crime Wave look very nice indeed. The idea of the game is that you drive around the 3D cities shooting other cars that are your main targets. Manage to clear the target cars and it's off to the next stage you go. The car that you control handles very well after a little bit of getting use to the controls. Everything seems very good at first with it's nice little touches such as the tire marks on the road when you skid. Then the action starts to get a bit busy. Crime Wave STOPS !!! Yes that's right, while playing the action will freeze for a split second while it tries to sort out what's going on. Now this wouldn't be so bad if it only did it every so often but it's doing it almost ever few seconds making the game look incredibly jerky. This spoils any fun that you were just starting to have. It's a real shame that this problem appears in the game because it would have been a great title without it. It maybe possible that my copy of the game is damaged but from looking at the disc it seems to be perfect. I put it down to poor programming. Still, if you can put up with the jerky pausing every time the screen gets busy then by all means go ahead and buy a copy.
