One of Sega's first 3D platformers
for the Saturn and what a load of crap it is. But what do you expect
considering it came from the states. While Sega of Japan brought us
Clockwork Knight which was colourful and at least imaginative, Sega US
brought us BUG ! which is dull looking and as imaginative as a packed of
cheese and onion crisps.
The thing that makes me dislike Bug so much is that it's just so dull.
Everything has a washed out or dirty look to it. Whether it be the
colours used or the actual style of the character and levels, it just
looks dull. Playability wise it's also dull. True that Clockwork Knight
was also a dud but at least it had more to it's credit in terms of
playability than this. Another annoying thing is the stupid speech. It
seemed to be the style of American games back then to make the main
character shout out dumb arse expressions. I don't know about American
players but every European or Japanese I've asked said that they hate
this. Still at least Bug ! isn't as annoying as Gex. |
