Prikara stands for Princes Kurara who is the
main character of this game (the one in red) You may have seen her in a
few of Atlus's other games too. Daisakusen means Big Plan. So I guess
this game could be called "Princes Kurara's Big Plan" in English.
Doesn't seem to have the same punch to it really (^o^).
This 2 player shooter takes place over the worlds of Kurara's kingdom
which seems to have been invaded by robots filled with cute animals
(*_*)? It's up to Kurara and Kirara (her sister I take it) to clean up
the kingdom.
Unlike your standard shooter, Kurara can walk in any direction she wants
thus controlling the speed of the scrolling. While she can't stop the
screen from scrolling all together, she can slow it down to enable her
more time to attack what's around her. The action is none stop with
enemies around you at any time. You have two options to kill them
though. Shoot them with your magical wand or smack them over the head
with your over sized mallet. Oh, I almost forgot about the angle that
follows you. She "Grows Up" between stages allowing her to shoot off
more deadly attacks in your defense. This becomes very useful later on
in the game since you can't seem to attack everything coming at you.
Prikura Daisakusen is a fun shooter that may not appeal to the hardcore
shooting fan but to everyone else it's well worth thinking about even if
it is a little easy.
This version I have comes with a 1997 calendar. I have no idea if all
copies of Prikura Daisakusen come with this calendar because I've seen a
few copies in single CD cases. Maybe the one I own is a limited first
print. I can't be too sure about this though. If you have any
information about it then please let me know.
