At the time of ZAP!s release there was only one other snowboard game for the Saturn which was the very good Steep Slope Sliders by Victor Japan. So which one would you buy? Well let's see what ZAP ! has over Steep Slope Sliders.

Hmmmm, ok well the polygons don't warp as much as Steep Slope Sliders and also seem to have slightly higher resolution textures. Hmm, anything else better than Steep Slop Sliders? Err, no. I don't think there is.  ZAP ! only makes use of two buttons being a very shitty jump and to turn the snowboard around. This makes for one dull game. There are no special moves to pull off, no tricks and no excitement. There are 4 courses to choose from but each one is so dull that you'll be wanting to quit before you reach the end. The music is also pretty bad. Another annoying thing about ZAP ! is that there seems to be no gravity at all most of the time. I've found my snowboarder sliding off the side of a cliff many times with there being nothing I can do to stop it from happening.

All in all ZAP ! is a poor game that you should avoid. Get Steep Slope Sliders or even the better but still worse than Steep Slope Sliders, ZAP! Snowboarding Trix '98.
