This is the game that proved the Saturn was the ultimate 2D Power House. Before X-Men's release the PlayStation fan boys insisted that not only was the PlayStation far superior to the Saturn in 3D but also in 2D. How hard I laughed when they said this. But no matter how much you'd tell them that the Saturn was a 2D monster, they wouldn't listen. Then Capcom brought it's 1st 2D Fighter to the Saturn (via Rutubo Games) that really showed what it could do. Featuring 10 characters, some of which almost fill the screen and up to four characters fully animated on screen at once plus multi level backgrounds showed that the Saturn could out do the PlayStation in 2D with ease. X-Men was promised and canceled for the PlayStation a number of times until eventually Acclaim ported it over to the PlayStation. "Oh No" is all I can say. It's not even in the same league as the Saturn version. Ever since then the Saturn has out preformed EVERY PlayStation 2D game from fighters and platformers to shooters.
