The House Of The Dead in my book is far more enjoyable than the 2nd game and a million times more enjoyable that the 3rd one. The Saturn version is faithful to it's big arcade brother in every way thanks to those nice chaps in Australia known Tantalus. Tantalus also brought us the Saturn versions of Wipeout and Manx TT. The only gripe I have with the Saturn version of House Of The Dead is the low resolution textures. Luckily for Tantalus, the low resolution textures sort of add to The House Of The Dead's spooky look, so it's not all that bad. I still would have like them to have been a little cleaner.

Like I said above, the Saturn port of House Of The Dead is just like it's arcade counterpart in respects to speed, level design and music. The Saturn version even features all of the multi routs found in the Arcade version. Not only does the Saturn version feature the arcade game but also a Saturn mode and Boss Attack mode. Good news for NiGHTS analogue controller owners too. You can use it on this game as well as the standard Saturn pad but we all know that using the Official Saturn gun is the best way to play. If you're in to gun games then make sure you track this one down soon. Probably the best gun game for the Saturn after Virtua Cop 2.
