You may be thinking that the cover scan to this game is dark but no, that's it's actual colour and it continues throughout the game. Colour is very bland and dark here. I've noticed this with actual American baseball on TV too or at least compared to Japanese baseball. Anyway, Frank Thomas Big Hurt Baseball is your average baseball game. Loads of stats and options, many different teams to play as (All American Teams) and basic controls. Yep, there's nothing that makes this game stand out any higher than Sega's own Greatest Nine series. In fact the Greatest Nine series is probably better in many respects. On the plus side, Frank Thomas Big Hurt Baseball does have decent commentary. If this game didn't look so dull, used polygons rather than sprites for the players and more responsive controls it could have been a winner. Saying that though it wouldn't be Frank Thomas Big Hurt Baseball then. |
