Pack-in-Video are actually Victor Japan (JVC) and are well known for making and releasing many sub standard games but strangely enough also responsible for the cult Mega CD and Saturn Keio games. Anyway, Wangan Dead Heat + Real Arrange is not to be mistaken for Wangan Dead Heat. Whist both games are basically the same this one throws in a load of lovely ladies plus a bonus video disc that's compatible with the Saturn's MPEG card giving you some lovely MPEG video. The disc will work without the card but the quality is really bad.

The game is not too good to be honest. It's not the worst racer on the Saturn since the car can actually be controlled as long as you use the out side view and it can be quite fun for 30 minutes or so. There seems to be only 5 different tracks that don't take too long to complete. There are night modes and so on but that doesn't really make you want to keep playing. The funny thing is that Wangan was programmed by Genki, the same people behind the Shutokou Battle (Tokyo Highway Battle) games on the Saturn and Dreamcast. It seems that this was their first attempt. Pack-in-Video did actually release another Wangan racing game featuring anime characters but that was God awful. Probably because they made it themselves.
