Officially the most difficult to find Saturn Action Game in Japan.
Tryrush Deppy is one of those games you know but can never find. In
Japanese game stores it's is very rare and even on Yahoo Auctions is
only shows up a few times a year if that. You are much more likely to
find any of the so called ultra rare Saturn titles quicker than this.
So what type of game is Tryrush Deppy? Well, it's an enjoyable slow
passed platform action game where you take the role of the cute taxi
cab, Deppy. Just as in many standard platform games Deppy can collect
stars and kill enemies by jumping on to their heads. He also has a
lovely rush attack to take out stubborn enemies which does add that
little bit of variety to the game play. Deppy doesn't have an energy bar
as such but a fuel tank. As you progress through the level the fuel tank
drains meaning that you have to find barrels full of petrol / gas in
order to top up your tank. Barrels are plentiful through out the levels,
however you'll need more than just one or two if you keep getting
attacked or over use the dash attack. Yes, these also drain your fuel.
Deppy sure is a thirsty cab.
Graphically Tryrush Deppy is beautiful. The graphics are so colourful
and have a lovely hand drawn look to them which really helps the game
standout above the rest. There are even comic book style intermission
screens to push the story of each level along. It's not only the
backgrounds that look good, Deppy and all of the Tryrush Deppy world
characters are well animated each with their own unique look. Nihon
Create have really thought this one through.
Tryrush Deppy is by no means a Sonic beater but for those of you after
a nice relaxing steady paced platformer I can recommend Tryrush Deppy
over the likes of Super Tempo for sure. A solid entertaining game that's
well worth checking out IF you can find it. |
