Some of you may know this game from the home computer days of point & click adventure games.  This Saturn conversions comes to use in association with XING.  Now, you're probably wondering "How on Earth can this work on the Saturn?" Well, with loads of loading points of course.  You see, the main problem with the Saturn Prisoner of Ice is that it has to load in the animation and speech as well as game program in to 4 tinny megabytes of memory unlike a PC.  Now, while the loading is bearable it's also extremely noticeable.  However you can cut down loading times by switching off the speech.  Talking about the speech, this Japanese Saturn version has kept the original voice cast!  This is fantastic news because those of you who can't understand Japanese can still understand and play this pretty good point & click adventure.  There will be times when you'll have to work things out for yourself due to the Japanese text  but I'm sure you'll be able to get by.

Considering the severe lack of Saturn Point & Click adventure games in English, Prisoner of Ice doesn't have much to go up against apart from maybe the PAL versions of Disc World 1 and 2 and as for Japanese released games there's even less choice since most are translated in to Japanese.  Thankfully the story in Prisoner of Ice is entertaining enough to make this an enjoyable purchase.
