This game actually surprised me quite a bit. What we have here is a fantastic action puzzle game not un-similar to Puyo Puyo but with a very interesting twist. Just as in Puyo Puyo and most other games like that, the object of the game is to link 4 or more blobs of the same colour together. However this is where Dero~n Dero Dero ends in similarities with other action puzzle games. You see, in this game the coloured blobs grow what can only be described as arms every time a combination is preformed. These arms then reach out to grab the arm of the nearest blob. If these blobs are the same colour then they'll combine together to perform another combination. Now, all this may sound like it's far too easy to play this game but believe me when I say that the learning curve in this game is perfect. Yes, it does start off easy but soon becomes a very challenging and addictive puzzle game. There are 4 modes to play in with the main basic ones of Arcade and 2 player being present however the other 2 modes are quite unique. First we have the puzzle mode that fills half of your grid that he blobs fall in to with cunningly placed blocks. The other mode is what I like to call the tall mode. What we have here is a grid 3 screens in height! In other words you have to scroll from the top to the bottom in order to see everything. Very odd yet strangely addictive. If you're in to puzzle games and you have Puyo Puyo Sun or Puyo Puyo 2 then this should be the next game on your list. Forget about all the others until you've played this. Fantastic puzzler with a crazy soundtrack.
