Game Basic is a very power programming tool that will allow users to create their very own 3D or 2D games for the Sega Saturn. Programming can be done on any windows platform between '95 and XP then sent to the Saturn via a special cable shown at the bottom of this page.

The main package shown below comes with 2 CDs in the case shown above, 1 of which is the Saturn Game Basic disc while the other disc includes 2 PC tools. One allows you to convert images and sound to Saturn format while the other acts as a virtual keyboard for the Saturn. This is really handy since you don't have to go and fork out the cash for a Saturn keyboard. Just type using the PC and watch the results appear on the Saturn. Also included in the package are two very thick manuals. One being a tutorial guide while the other is a reference guide. Finally there's the Saturn to PC interface cable. Make sure you have the correct connection on your PC or an adaptor otherwise you'll be doing nothing with Game Basic.

Finally, the disc that runs on the Saturn has a number of tech demos including a pilotwings attempt in 3D as well as some sound demos including music from Game Arts games such as Luna Silver Star Story and Alisia Dragoon. In fact it's pretty interesting to hear the Alisia Dragoon tracks in their Saturn incarnation.
