As you all know, the original
Chaos Control was yawn city. Looked bloody awful, was as exciting to
play as moving a mouse cursor across your PC's desk top and had pretty
much no sound effects. This remake however is actually quite an
improvement over the original. It's still a crap game but at least it's
an improvement.
First up is the addition of the Saturn Virtua Gun. The original game
only allowed the use of the shuttle mouse and standard pad. This remixed
game now has a new front end as well as much more improved cut scenes
between levels. Even the loading within the game is much shorter. In
game is also a lot better with the enemy ships now actually firing at
you as well as having better sound effects. Your ship also has a better
looking blaster but the most improved aspect of the overlaid graphics
are the explosions. In the original game the targets were covered by
what can only be described as a load of sick thrown over a spider web.
In this remake you get explosive clouds that cover the entire target.
Chaos Control Remix is a vast improvement over the original but still
lacking any sort of excitement. Avoid unless you really must have an on
rails FMV based shooter.
