Released by Banpresto of all people (yes that company that mostly makes crap featuring super deformed Gundam and what not) is one of Toaplan's best shooters. Of course Banpresto didn't program the Saturn version of Batsugun. They don't have the skill to produce anything worth while. This Saturn version comes from Toaplan themselves in cooperation with Gazelle. Featuring 2 soundtracks, original and arcade plus vertical and horizontal screen modes. Batsugun is more than just a straight arcade port.
At first Batsugun doesn't really
seem that hot from the first level to me thanks to the odd surrounding
(under the sea) and weak weapons but that soon changes once you start to
power up throughout the following stages. The power ups become so large
that your weapon fire can cover almost the entire screen but don't let
that fool you in to thinking you'll never get killed. |
