If you've read the EMIT pages then you'll know exactly what type of game Dark Hunter is. Koei in their endless attempts to bore the world to death with it's Chinese and Japanese historic simulations have decided to also tried dabbling in the field of Edutainment with surprisingly decent results.

Dark Hunter like EMIT is an English education disc aimed at teaching Japanese teenagers how to speak English. Luckily for us this software can also be used to teach us how to speak Japanese since it's fully bilingual. I also noticed that Dark Hunter is based more on British English than EMIT which is American English based. I've yet to bother to listen to the voice acting in English since EMIT's was bloody awful so I play in Japanese with English text. However the spelling so far is British style such as colour instead of color and even British English words are used such as mum instead of mom. For me this is wonderful but I bet the English voice acting is still shite. I should try it out I guess. Anyway, Apart from having a pretty good interactive story, Dark Hunter also has ggameh sections. Well, I say ggameh because that's what Koei describe them as where as I'd describe them as an interactive menu. Still, this is a nice title and well worth getting if you want to learn Japanese or English.

Dark Hunter will also keep you going for quite some time due to the multiple routs throughout the game and different characters you can play as. The story is also good enough to keen even adults entertained. While it is a bit on the sad side (as in stupid) you just keep playing to see what happens. I won't tell you about the story just in case you want to play this game. I don't want to spoil it now, do I?
