Game Ware is the idea of General Entertainment, the company behind such Dreamcast games as the first Godzilla and Pen Pen Triathlon. Game Ware is best described as a magazine on CD. The first thing you’ll notice are the many Japanese TV ads that pop up between every section. These are probably what paid for the production of the disc. Apart from the TV adds what else can you find? Well there are few really piss poor “home brew” style games which of course have their sponsors such as Mitsubishi (actually this game would be ok if the controls were fixed) which is a sort of overhead racing game against the clock.  There’s also a 1 level playable preview of Layer Section and a few interviews with the makers of NiGHTS as well as a few others. One of the more interesting features is the Virtua Fighter digital comic with full sound and voice acting. The one featured on Game Ware Vol:2 is the story of Sarah Bryant part 1. This is well drawn and quite interesting if you can understand Japanese. It also runs in the Saturn’s highest resolution.

So we have a few crappy games, video preview, Japanese TV ads and general information on shopping and entertainment and the digital comic. That’s about it really. So is it worth getting? Well, err...... maybe not unless you’ve got money to burn or if you live in Japan and can pick it up for 20 yen.
