Baroque: Distorted pearls. A Style of art that once prevailed. Disharmony, excess, confusion. Once upon another time.

That's just one of the strange English text sections featured in this game. Baroque is one of the most interesting RPGs on the Saturn due to it's odd yet compelling style. The actual game is played in a first person view along random generated dungeons and city areas.  The city areas in RPGs are normally a save haven but not in Baroque.  Even in these information gathering areas you can still be attacked so you always need to be on guard.

While Baroque is no fast paced FPS it does do a good job at portraying a dark and gloomy futuristic land.  The worlds are pretty solid adding to that atmosphere unlike many other Saturn first person RPGs.  The soundtrack is also intriguing with it's ambient sounds and fitting musical score.

The front cover comes with a plastic cover wrapped around it. Below you can see the actual plastic cover which I've scanned on a white background. The original is transparent.
