The Mega Drive has always been the under dog when it came to 1 on 1 beat'em ups.  The Super Famicom had more colours, better sound and more support from the likes of Capcom and Takara, the later being responsible for many SNK conversions.  So it comes as no surprise that the Mega Drive version of Super Street Fighter 2 is lacking in quite a few areas behind the Super Famicom version.  First off you'll notice that the audio is pretty bad.  BGM and sound effects could have been so much better.  Of course the speech is pretty awful as in many Mega Drive games but it's not even all there!.  Next comes the graphics.  You can clearly see the lack of colours and detail that the original arcade and Super Famicom version have plus this game plays in a box making the small-ish characters seem even smaller.

It's not all bad news though.  The Mega Drive version of Super Street Fighter 2 does play very well and includes many play modes such as Super Battle (basic arcade mode), VS mode, Tournament Battle, Group Battle (played either in an elimination or point match style) and Challenge mode which consists of a time attack and score challenge.  Yeah, I know they aren't the greatest modes in the world but still, a nice little extra.

To be brutally honest there are much better versions of Super Street Fighter 2 out there when it comes to looks and sound but if those things don't really bother you then you can't go wrong with this version.  It plays like a dream.
