Better known as Last Battle in the west with all it's blood removed and character changes, Hokuto No Ken or Fist of the North Star under the English name is a side scrolling walk along beat'em up quite like Taito's Ninja Warriors.  However you take the roll of the hero, Ken, who's mission is to rid the destroyed planet of evil ones.  Not a cyborg ninja like in Taito's game.

Unlike the anime or manga this game is not that good.  To be honest it's yawn city as you walk from one area to another, kick or punch a few bad guys, talk to the person waiting at the end of the level then move on to the next area and repeat.  For the first 10 to 20 minutes you may find this quite entertaining with people's heads exploding every time you kill them and the chance to see one of your favorite characters at the end of each level.  After that though there's not much else to get excited about apart from the showdown battle with a "boss" character.
