Now according to the box, this Hercules game is 64Mbit in size however I find that very hard to believe. Apart from the introduction where Hercules actually carries on the title screen therefs nothing else to suggest that this game is 64Mbit. Just a shame I have no way to dumb the contents of the cartridge to find out for sure. Anyway, what we have here is a side scrolling platform action game thatfs not all that bad. Control wise we have a jump button, sword button and the power punch that grows stronger the longer the button is held down. The controls are pretty much spot on as well apart from the jumping diagonally. To do that you must first jump then let go of the jump button and press the direction is which you want to go. This can be a right pain at first but you soon become accustom to it. Now that I come to think about it, it doesnft make this already challenging game any easier.

Graphics are pretty decent for a Chinese original and serve their purpose. The typical half arsed animation is present mind you. The music on the other hand is bloody awful but isnft it mostly always bloody awful in these games. Itfs as if all the Chinese programmers for these Mega Drive games all use the same piss poor sound engine.

With difficulty level options that actually work and good presentation all round, Hercules is a pretty decent effort but is flawed be being too bloody hard. I mean, come on, the levels are massive yet if you die itfs straight back to the beginning.
