Title -  Dynamite Duke   (ダイナマイト デューク)

Developer - Sega   Catalogue No. - G-4038

Type - Shooting Action

Originally by Seibu Kanhatsu, the same company behind the Raiden series this Mega Drive Sega reprogrammed version is quite an accurate conversion of the arcade original.  Unfortunately that's only in he playability part of the game since looks have been downgraded quite a bit probably due to cartridge size limitations at the time.  Even the PC Engine version looks better in some areas than this Mega Drive version.  Still, it's not all bad because Mega Drive Dynamite Duke still delivers that arcade quality game play which s what counts the most.

For those who've never played Dynamite Duke I'd describe it as an Operation Wolf style game where you view your character from behind.  Now of course having your character's body on screen is going to get in the way of seeing any bad ass mercenaries coming your way.  Well, not to worry because Duke has a transparent body that will allow you to see right through him!  How about that for the ultimate camouflage!

Levels are just the right size in Dynamite Duke which is important in a game like this.  Too short and you feel ripped off, too long and you feel like you're on a trip to yawn city.  However I did find the game quite tough in some areas so be warned if you're the type of gamer who hates a challenge.  If you do like a challenge though I'd happily recommend this game to you for a bit of classic arcade action.
