After the slight disappointment that was Splatter House 2 I wasn't looking forward to Splatter House 3 however I'm very happy to say that from the very moment I powered up the game I knew this was something special.  Right from the wonderful introduction the in-game presentation keeps it's high standards through out with some lovely cut scenes explaining the plot of the game as well as some gruesome looking enemy monsters and eerie back grounds.  Unlike part 2, part 3 lets you walk around the area battling monsters rather than the stuck on one plain.  This leads to much more exciting gameplay not to mention a lot less frustrating than what players had to put up with in the 2nd Splatter House game.  Splatter House 3 is more than just a straight left to right scrolling fighter mind you.  Once clearing all of the enemies within the area you are given an option of doors to go through.  Think of this as a simple maze to the exit room.  It may not sound much of an extra but when you consider your under a time limit the panic soon sets in.  Still, make sure you take your time to bash the brains out of the passing monsters !

A wonderful scrolling beat'em up with a novel twist to gameplay.  Well worth picking up but beware if you want the Japanese version because you're going to have to shell out a bit more than what you would for your average Mega Drive game.
