I used to love this game back in 1990 so I was wondering how it had stood up to the test of time now in 2005 and would I still enjoy it?  Well, I'm very happy to say that Phelious is still a fun shooter that managed to keep me playing for well over an hour.  The graphics still look quite nice with the multi layers of parallax scrolling in different directions.  Music is still pretty nice as well as the good old speech which is actually quite long.  It still sounds like the Mega Drive has just swallowed a load of razor blades though but still, great classic fun.  I seriously recommend picking up Phelious if you're after a bit of a challenge with a twist.
