Nintendo had their Super FX so Sega made their SVP (Sega Virtua Processor) that was capable of much more than the Super FX.  The SVP could push 9000 polygons per second running at 23 MHz / 23 Mips.  While I liked Star Fox / Star Wing on the Super Famicom it was still a bit slow and Wild Trax / Stunt Race FX was far too slow and the size of the screen was so small.  The other Super FX games are best not to be talked about, well except for Vortex's excellent music.  Anyway, back to Virtua Racing.  This Mega Drive port features all 3 tracks from the arcade game along with the 4 changeable views.  Even the classic "GAME OVER" music is in there as well as all the other Arcade themes.  The playability is also spot on.  The only bad thing about Mega Drive V.R. is the fact that the resolution is a bit low and at times if you choose the in-car view, you can't make out the track.  Aside from that, Mega Drive Virtua Racing is a master piece and poops all over the crappy Time Warner Saturn Version.
