Better know as The Laughing Salesman in the west, this adventure game by Sega and Compile is defiantly one of the stranger ones out there.  The main character that you can see on the cover is a very creepy short fat salesman that seems to do nothing but laugh at every possible chance.  He also likes to give people a way out of their problem ridden life by offering the chance to walk through a mystery door.  What's on the other side we don't know but before you enter he warns you that there is no coming back.

The game is played by watching the story of one of the "people in need" live through a section of their life.  While watching you can also interact by the good old point and click style of gameplay as well as selecting a few "what to do next" options.  If all goes well you will return to a happy problem free life but if not, the laughing Salesman will appear with his creepy way of talking and looks to offer advice.  The problem is that his advice doesn't really benefit you.  Think of him as the bad guy of the game.

Main gameplay modes include point and click style, first person fighting, corridor 3D sections and a side 1 on 1 fight.  None of these look particularly impressive but serve their purpose.  The actual quality of the graphics mind you is quite nice if not lacking in animation.  The sound is also very fitting however the speech samples are of a really low quality probably due to the amount they had to squeeze on to the disc.

The Laughing Salesman is a very interesting game filled with nice details and quite a bit of comedy but unless you can understand Japanese you're probably not going to find much enjoyment in this game.
