Nostalgia was released for four platforms including the Sharp X68000 however the Mega CD version remains the best with it's full voice support and CD quality audio. Though a relatively simple affair (essentially a linear text adventure) Nostalgia lives and breathes on the seemingly effortless way it conjures a mood, a wistfulness for a time we weren't alive to experience.

In this game it's all about the story: You play as Kasuke Yamada, the lone Japanese aboard a luxurious passenger ship known as the Nostalgia, on a cruise in the north Atlantic. Everything is positively Belle Époque until a bomb explodes on board, crippling navigation. A mysterious communiqué is sent by a person identifying himself as the perpetrator, with one demand: Find the "Russian Mist", hidden somewhere aboard the Nostalgia, or another bomb will be detonated, sinking the ship and all on board. A quick investigation of bomb fragments from the initial explosion reveal the ordnance to be of Japanese manufacture, and immediately Kasuke is suspected.

Just what is the Russian Mist? Can Kasuke stay alive? Can the Nostalgia be saved? If you can read Japanese and play Mega CDs, I strongly encourage you discover the answers for yourself.

Coming bundled with this version of the game is the original Nostalgia Soundtrack complete with booklet as shown below along with the Mega CD disc.
