I hear many people saying how bad the Mega CD version of Night Striker is when in reality it's actually not that far off the Saturn and Arcade versions.  As far as playability goes this version is pretty much identical to the others. It's even compatible with the Mega Drive's analogue controller.  The amount of action and smoothness of the 3D sprite scaling is also just as good as the other versions.  There is a problem with the Mega CD version though and that is everything looks so pixilated.  It's as if Taito have programmed the game in a small window then zoomed it up to appear full screen.  This really does make it difficult to make out some objects in the distance since they just look like a blocky mess.  There's also a little slowdown when things get busy however this doesn't happen that much and when it does it's only for a few seconds.  Nothing that would disturb you from enjoying the game.

If you can put up with the pixilated graphics, the Mega CD version of Night Striker is actually a pretty good conversion of the arcade original plus it also comes with the original and arranged soundtracks which is no bad thing.  You can never have too much Zuntata music in your game!
