Over hyped just like Radiant Silver Gun (also by Treasure) was on the Saturn.  Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful game with an new style of play and sets a good challenge if not a bit hard but there are other shooters out there that are just as good and get no recognition because they are not by Treasure.  Treasure are a great games company but I think that people get too excited about them at times.  The bottom line is that Ikaruga is an excellent shoot'em up and is the last one to be released on the Dreamcast which will make it a great collectors item in the future.  Grab it while you can !!
