Tanks, what is the attraction to them? I have no idea or at least I didn’t until I played this game. As you’ve probably guessed from the cover art, Panzer Front is a tank based war game which is thankfully an action based game rather than a dull stats simulation. The idea of the game is to carry out a campaign using the tank of your choice. Of course your choice of tank is limited based upon what campaign you select. Taking the tank out on to the battle field is no easy task, especially the big heavy units. Luckily there’s the training mode that will allow you to take part in a simulation exercise explaining how to move, target and shot all at the same time. Things do seem a little overwhelming at first but you soon get to grips with everything thanks to the simulation exercise. Once that’s complete it’s time to head in to battle.

Graphically overall things aren’t bad. I am a bit disappointed that you can’t drive your tank through a house like on the movies or that you can’t even blow them up with a rocket. Still, this is just a minor grumble. The actual battle areas look pretty good giving an atmosphere that will draw you closer to the action giving you just the right amount of satisfaction from wrecking someone’s garden wall by smashing your tank through it.
