After playing a demo version of Power Jet Racing a few years back I didn't think that much of it so I wasn't expecting too much from the full game but to my surprise I actually like it.  As with all water racing games the most important aspect graphically is the water and Power Jet Racing 2001 does not fail to deliver the goods in this department.  The water is actually bump mapped or at least looks like it is giving the impression of some very nice ripples.  There are also some very impressing wave effects that really send your jet bike bouncing all over the place.  The actual areas also look very nice ranging from jungles, to the Antarctic and even cities ! All together Power Jet Racing 2001 is a visual treat, plus add that solid 30fps and you have yourself a game that can actually make you motion sick if you play it too much (^o^).

So how does it play?  At first I wasn't too impressed with the controls but after a bit of messing around I finally got to grips with the turning style and jet ski positioning which made the game so much more fun to play.  It's also quite a challenge once you get to the second heat meaning that you'll have to learn who to balance your jet ski in the water otherwise you're not going to get the top speed.  There are a total of 8 courses in total some of which aren't available in the first heat such as the Phantom or Japan courses.  As well as the standard Championship game there's also a time trial, 2 player mode and challenge modes which include tricks and the balloon challenge mode in which you have to run your jet ski over enough balloons to progress to the next area.

If you're looking for a racer with a difference then I can seriously recommend this title.
