Ever wanted to pilot a world war fighter plane ?  No?  Well maybe you'd better stop reading right here :P

Imperial No Taka puts you as a pilot in the Japanese air force ready to go to battle for the country.  The first scene has you shooting down British Spit Fires.  Needless to say that the US version of this game is all Pro USA.  Not sure if there is a European version though.  Anyway, the controls of your plane are far more difficult to master than the likes of Aero Dancing or Air force Delta or even Propeller Arena.  It takes a great deal of still to fly these plane in a straight line most of the time.  Never mind a dog fight.

The whole presentation of Imperial No Taka is very nice.  The FMV cut scenes are just like you'd see from a world war movie and the story sequences are all set out in a virtual polygon world.  The odd thing is that the cut scenes and story scenes look better than the actual game.  The main battling part of the game doesn't look so pretty but that's not a problem since you'll spend most of the time trying to keep the plane in the air.

I'm still getting in to this one so I can't say if it's a must buy or not.  But I can tell you that it's no dud.  Give it a try if you're after something a little different from the typical arcade style shooter.
