The date is 28th October 2004 and the Dreamcast still lives on !!  Baldr Force is the latest offering from GIGA and Alchemist.  Alchemist are well-known for their dating sims so this release comes as quite a surprise.  Baldr Force EXE is a Japanese style adventure with shooting action scenes.  This may seem like an odd combination since your typical Japanese adventure sim consists of text, speech and lovely art work and that's about it really.  Baldr Force has all of that but also a great mech shooting section.  These action sections pop up throughout the game as the story progresses.  You actually get to play out the story in real time as you battle your way though the levels.

The entire atmosphere of Baldr Force is without a doubt one of the more intriguing in a long time.  The music fits the action and text sections so well.  cut scenes blend flawlessly with a unique style about them.  I've been playing this game for 5 hours now and have managed to build up my mech quite a bit with extra weapons and so on.  This is probably the only Japanese style adventure game that I've ever played for such a length of time.  I normally can't be bothered after a few hours.  Well, apart from Kanon that is.

As with almost every Dreamcast release over the last year or so, Sega Direct have been doing their very own special sets that can only be bought from them or from us at Segagaga Domain since we have an account (^v^)  So with Baldr Force you get quite a fair bit of extra goodies.  First off we have the telephone card as shown above.  Next there's the poster which has the same art work as the telephone card so there's no real reason to post a picture of that.  And finally there's the cool model of the main mech that you play as in the game.  Just check it out !!

The mech comes with movable parts so that you can model it in to a variety of different poses.

The mechs also come with extra weapons.  The top right picture shows it with two guns while the one to the left shows the mech with one gun and a light sword.
