For those who don’t know, the game of Shanghai is actually quite a simple idea. What
you have are various sets of playing tiles multi layered (3 to 5 or so layers) gathered
together in a random group. The idea is to pick up two tiles of the same design
to successfully complete your turn. Sounds easy, right? Well it is until you find
that the tile you want is partially under another tile. In such a situation you
can not take that particular tile resulting in a missed chance or penalty.
There’s an awful lot of strategy that goes in to a game of Shanghai and to tell the
truth it’s actually quite addicting. This SFC version looks pleasant enough and
plays a tough game however I felt that the computer AI can be a little too tough
in early stages.
